Utilities (phone, cable, etc.) -- Who You Gonna Call, Watch, Hear?

Electricity, water, gas, and a few other things, form the basic power tools of our modern times. Utility services bring the electricity, water, gas, TV service and phone service into our homes. Utility companies grow and migrate into alternate energy sources to better serve society's needs. Many utility companies use solar, wind, nuclear and hydroelectric power to keep our society up and running. Water companies recycle water and this cuts down on greenhouse gas emissions, as does the other cleaner energy-generating sources. Gasoline producers are trying new combinations of fuel such as ethanol and others. Phone companies use fiber-optic cables and under the ocean transmission to get communications flowing smoothly. It's been forty years since the cell phone was invented, and looks at that industry now! Utility companies and society as a whole must evolve and grow in order to survive. We can do our part at home and help out the utility companies, and ourselves, by recycling whenever we can.
