Wallcoverings -- Not Just For Granny Anymore

Wallpaper is in again. There's a huge choice available now and some of it isn't your granny's favorite flower print, either. Some wallpaper has a raised pattern and is white, so it can be painted over and give your walls a custom look. Some wallpaper is made from natural materials and some is luxurious and can be costly. Wallcoverings can also include tapestries and faux painting. Most often, it is wallpaper and its infinite variety. Wallpaper can be removed by using a steamer, after you have roughed up the surface so the steam can penetrate. How easily (or not) wallpaper comes off depends a lot on how long it's been on the wall, how many layers there are, and what type it is, plus what glue was used when it was put down. Layers of old wallpaper can be difficult to remove but there are several methods. One is using a spray bottle and diluted liquid fabric softener. This works on paper as well as your clothes!
