Blinds & Drapery -- What Are You Doing in There?

Nothing looks worse from the outside of a house, or the inside for that matter, than ratty or torn window coverings. Drapes are always nice but sometimes they tend to get dusty so if you have allergies, a nice set of blinds may work for you. Some blinds are sealed inside double panes of glass and these need no dusting! There are Roman blinds (they pull up by means of stings or tape threaded through in two lines and running vertically). There are ready-made paper and plastic blinds in assorted colors. There are plantation shutters which may be made from wood or vinyl. The latter is good for bathrooms. There are wooden slat blinds and bamboo blinds. A tip to make plain roller blinds better is to get some fabric you like then spray glue it onto the blind. This can inexpensively perk up your windows look.
