Decks & Decking -- Don't Fall Into the Muddy Yard!

Nothing finishes off a backyard and is more pleasing for families and guests, than to be able to flow out of the family room or kitchen into the backyard on a lovely summer day. Of course, a great deck will help. If it rains then you won't have to step through puddles. Decks should have a raining around them and some materials often used are redwood or cedar, or even a plastic composite (never needs painting or staining). These days, it's hard to tell the difference between real and created! A pergola may be built in one corner of the deck, as this provides a great dining area. You can also train flowering vines over it and string little lights all over the roof. This makes for a lovely, warm and inviting atmosphere for any guests. Light up your deck with a few wall sconces on the side of the house, and you'll be all set. Don't forget a set of study steps, too.
