Doors -- Stop the Weather From Coming On In!

Doors are the openings through which we come and go ever day. That may be overstated but do we ever pay attention to our doors? They may need to be sanded, painted, re-hung, have hardware replaced on them, replaced in their entirety and even the jambs replaced as well. You can buy pre-hung doors and these are a great boon. What kind of climate do you live in? Doors come in a huge variety of widths and materials and weather resistance. Sometimes just sanding and repainting your front door, and replacing the hardware on it will give you a whole new outlook. A bright color can work and this can also match wooden shutters you have at your windows. Against brick or in a colonial house, this looks great. Painted wooden trim and a coordinating front door looks good in a Craftsmen-style home. Most wood in the inside of that style of home is natural or stained like a natural wood species, but the outside can be painted a lot of the time. Replacing the outdoor lamp over your door will also refresh your look.
