Ironworking and metalworking in general is a profession that's been around for a very long time. Think about the iron gates to a castle or mansion in Europe. Ironworkers are craftspeople and deserve that title. Working with hot iron and bending and pounding (or pouring it) in to shape is hard work. If you create something in metal it will last a very long time. On a home, gutters are usually made from galvanized metal but they can be copper in some instances. This age, as all copper does, into verdigris and this is extremely attractive against the home's exterior. Decorations from wrought iron are made for both the interior and exterior of houses. A black wrought iron fence is containing, yet you can see through it and it won't obstruct a view. This type of fence is great if your home is on a hillside, perhaps prone to brushfires, and you want a fence that won't burn.
