The kitchen is the center of a home. Updating or renovating your kitchen worktops is one of the best investments you can do. If you plan on selling your home then this could be a deal maker (or breaker). To update kitchens you can take off cabinet doors and sand then paint them then add new hardware. Granite countertops are the in thing and a nice stone tile floor is always sought after. Appliances may be stainless steel as these are popular. Of course, besides updating the kitchen you have you can also get someone to come in, rip everything out and recycle what's possible, then have all new appliances and decorations and floors installed. See if there is a Habitat for Humanity store near you where you can donate still good appliances and that will help this worthwhile charity. Also, see if there are any government rebates available for a homeowner to replace his or her gas/electricity/water guzzling appliances with much more "greener" models.
