Mailboxes -- Duck, Pig, Plane or Box?

Mailboxes aren't so simple anymore. If you have a hobby or profession or like that you want to show off, then get or make a mailbox that represents it. You may have seen mailboxes that are shaped like planes, animals, houses or barns. Some people like a miniature representation of their own house as the mailbox. Some mailboxes are set inside stone pillars. They are certainly built to last! Some mailboxes are strong and made from plastic. You can also get seasonal covers that slip over standard mailboxes and these can be quite attractive. You can put a mailbox onto a 4 x 4 and then cement that into a large tub or bucket. This makes a great "doorstop" type of a base that won't tip over. You can also plant your 4x4 in a tub and fill it with dirt and pretty flowers. This makes a great mailbox/planter combo. Don't forget to water it!
