We think that glass was probably invented by the Romans accidentally. It is a wonderful material for making windows since we can see through it to the outside. Mirrors are also good when you want to brush your hair. Folks used to look into highly polished copper mirrors. These have been found in ancient tombs. Today, we can put double paned glass windows into our buildings and this saves on energy. Mirrors come in many types and can be lighted or framed in the bathroom for a great look. Gorgeous mirrors are often hung on living room walls or in a dining room. They will expand a room if placed on an opposite wall to a window. The light reflects back and expands the room. You can enhance you bathroom mirror if it's one of those square plain mirrors, by gluing a frame around it or adding a decorative border. If you have a craftsman-styled home, stained glass looks wonderful in the upper panes of those types of windows.
